Creating hand blended tea since 2009
It all started 11 years ago, in 2009 when I created Daintree Chai and began selling through a single retailer in the Daintree. I started blending my own chai using whole spice and local black tea as I found mainstream brands lacked the strong chai flavour I desired.
At our little market stall in Port Douglas, meeting with our customers and having great feedback about our chai teas, we started delving into creating other tea blends that the market demanded. In 2011 came the rebranding of the company to The Tea Chest and we created a range of 20 different tea blends.
Our family owned and run tea company is not only our job, it’s our passion. My love of tea began long ago and have always enjoyed sharing a cup with friends and family.
Quite simply, Tea is our passion. We love tea and are committed to sharing our favourite brew with others. You’ll find our blends of a far superior quality compared to standard bagged tea. This is because whole leaf teas produce a fuller, fresher flavour which is unmistakable in both taste and aroma. We do used imported ingredients however we source Australian grown product where ever possible.
