We use Australian grown cacao husks grown in North Queensland to Bring you Daintree Chai Chocolate, which is high in antioxidants, magnesium and potassium and is also caffeine free.

Chai has been a huge part of Indian culture throughout its history, and today is enjoyed across all walks of life around the world. Aside from having a wonderful flavour, it has proven health benefits that make it good for your health. Whilst drinking tea alone undoubtedly has its own rewards, most of the benefits in your favourite chai come from the spices used.

Here at The Tea Chest our teas are all hand blended made in small batches, packaged in heat sealed foil lined bags with tear off resealable zip lock enclosure to help maintain freshness. Blended and packaged in the rainforest surrounds of Far North Queensland.

How it tastes: A beautiful balance of smooth and spicy. Star Anise brings a natural sweetness, Ginger and Pepper give this spicy tea a kick, whilst the cinnamon, cardamom and cloves add an earthy tone to any chai blend.

Chai Benefits: With people becoming more health conscious and the promotion on healthy living, Chai has become increasingly popular due to the health benefits and low caffeine content compared to that of coffee. Chai boosts digestion, acts as an anti-inflammatory and acts as a source of nutrients to promote overall health. With all of the ingredients combined this beverage is not only delicious it is also healthy.

Cocoa Husk Tea Benefits:
Cacao husks carry many of the same health benefits as the cacao bean itself.
Research shows some of the health benefits may include; reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, lowers blood pressure and improves circulation. High in magnesium which is important for nerve and muscle function and building strong bones. Cocoa Husk is rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. 

 

Brewing Instructions

To serve one: Heat 250mls of water to 95°C. Add 1 heaped tsps. of tea and allow to infuse for 3 minutes if taken black; 4-5 minutes if adding milk. Best served with your favourite milk or soy, and sweetened with your local honey if desired.

Stove Top Method

Brewing Chai on the stove top is the more traditional of way to brew chai.  This method takes time but the reward is a richly brewed cup of chai allowing all the spices flavours to sing.

1. Place 3 teaspoons of Daintree Chai in a saucepan and add 300 mls of filtered water and allow to come to the boil, simmer for 3 mins.

2. Add 200 ml of milk of your choice (e.g. cows or goats’ milk, soy milk, almond or cashew milk.) Allow milk to heat through for 2 mins.

3. Strain tea into cup. Enjoy!
